Even with the health kick being in full swing in today’s world, many college haven’t jumped on the bandwagon. Between the snacking, lack of sleep, and alcohol, it’s easy for students to put on a few pounds. For many many students a few turns into being obese.

In 2012 a report was released from Trust for America’s Health that predicted 39 states were likely to have obesity rates above 50 percent by the year 2030. I found that number to be pretty alarming, so how do we prevent obesity within our college communities?  Three simple steps may be the key to fixing the problem: healthy snacking, make time to exercise, and get those eight hours of sleep.
