Everyone has to get to class and home some way, so ditch the bus when it’s nice out and walk or ride a bike,it’s an easy way to get in some exercise between classes. Once in the building it is tempting to take the elevator to get to class, but instead try taking the stairs. There are even classes offered in fitness which would make you exercise between two and three times a week. Most college tuition’s include access to the recreation center, so take advantage of that resource. During midterms and finals it can be hard to find time for the gym, but it is important. If using the treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike it is easy to bring study material with you to the gym and multitask.
When it comes to eating and drinking it can be hard with all the temptations around. It is best to drink water and less sodas. There is absolutely no nutritional value in sodas, and will cause a crash a few hours after drinking one and feel even more tired than before. It is also important to drink alcohol in moderation and chose a lighter option. Alcohol is one of the biggest reasons for weight gain in college.
No matter how busy you get, it is important to never skip a meal. A good breakfast will fuel your brain and kick-start your metabolism. Skipping meals can cause you to overeat later and chose a unhealthily option. Sleep is also important, everyone should try to get a good night sleep, which is about seven hours.
